Well it lower than people thought. When Ursan wasnt nerfed Me and my Leader did 50+ runs or 100+ runs idk lost count in first dungeon of Exile to see what we would get. After numerous Runs one r13 VS dropped for me sry If I said r11 in last post it was r13. So my conclusion is that it based on luck in the drop rate and it ex low. To HoM people this would be perfect farm for you to get your Destroyer Weapons Craft items of Diamonds and Onyxs.

this will not be nerfed as there is nothing to be nerfed.
Anet put that wall there for a reason. They've probably had a bet going to see how long it would take for people to notice.

Not quite sure what forums you're viewing because pretty much everyone here its saying its pretty rare for them to drop still but feel free to continue wearing your tinfoil hat.

No one in the group ever got a Voltaic Spear so I agree with Lordheinous, I think the drop rate is much lower then we are being lead to believe and people may be just trying to cause panic to drive price down.

To be honest it seems like you're basing all your facts on a bad pug run, gg. Like I said, even without getting voltaics its still one of the more profitable things to do in gw. I joined a pug or two earlier and it really didn't take long to organize. Really you must have had one phail pug =/

12 minutes isn't bad, I'd be happy with that. 5 chests an hour is good for me. I saw one Voltic Spear drop yesterday. Q12 and the guy was disapointed about getting it -_-; God I hate people who are too rich for there own good in this game <_<;

I had time for 1 run yesterday, and saw someone get one. Most of us commented that was the only one we'd seen. So I guess the jury's still out on rarity.

I guess its not that important how often the Voltaics drop, theres a few other rares which drop from there, and the average of 2 golds every 8 mins isnt bad if theres a chance one will be worth 100k + ectos.

Had two voltaics drop in a single run last night, but not for me. I have done Slavers chests 100s of times and have not gotten a voltaic for myself. I have seen them drop for others, but never for me.
The likelihood of getting one for yourself is lower than the frequency you see folks get one as there are seven additional trials each run (for a full team). Since I still have 60 Deldrimor armor remenents and have used a bunch on all 10 toons I have this would suggest that I have seen at least conservatively 80*5 chests = 400 of full Duncan runs. Couple that with all the runs of VS-Farm and I would suggest its more like 500-600. Now I have seen at least 5-12 voltaics drop over the course of this, never for me, but you have to factor in the additional chances of the other team members, so the number of trials for these runs (full team) is 500*8 = 4,000. From this information, I would bracket the probability of getting a voltaic at 0.0025 to 0.007.
If the probability was higher than 0.007 then I should have gotten one myself, that is it would be very unusual not to (<0.05). Also based on what I can recollect observing from all the drops of the whole team the worst the probabilty could be is about 0.0025 or so. That is, I should have seen fewer drops for the whole team than what I saw. So I suspect the true drop rate is somewhere between these two values, which is illustrated by the following plot.

Great find. Farm while you can. Anet is going to nerf this somehow just like they did the HoS runs and claim that it is to fix an exploit rather than admit that it's a creative discovery of a dungeon design.

I suppose that already updated, because not long in the Voltaic lowered.
I was thinking a lot thanks to arrive at this farm.
From shots ways two months ago thing you teach this to a farm coordinator GW, told me that while no secret outside would have problems but discovered that if not assured anything.

I think he is trying to say that he talked to someone from Anet and they said as long as it was kept quiet, it wouldnt be nerfed, but if it got out and was too popular, then anything could happen.
I think he also says that he believes the Spears dropped more often than they do now, so it may have been nerfed already

I have some questions about this and hope someone can help with them hehe:
- Having a group of humans doing this thing (i mean 8 guildies, for example),changing the eles for crypain mesmers.Would those crypain mesmers be able to do the same (or nearly)damage & efficiency to the ele build?
- Having the same people together, would be "safer" (and "nearly" as fast to the OP builds) to have a group eles with gl of swiftness + obsidian flesh next to wall + arcane mimicry on a party member who has Sabannah Heat? I mean taking no damage and AOE-ing with fire too. For HM i suppose. Less pressure on monks hehe.
By nearly as fast i mean +1 or +2 minutes :P. Just to change from eles to mesmer between runs hehe.
Maybe are stupid questions, but i just wanna hear some thoughs about them hehe.

We ran 4 CoP mesmers instead of eles....lets just say our runs went from 4 minutes to 2 minutes with mesmers.

What about a famine ranger and ancestral and sympathetic visage on the assassin and soothing images think that's the spell) Then you would only need one monk as there would be no real damage from anything.
